it’s my bros birthday today and unfortunately my dad didn’t give him any surprise as he said during our chat earlier :-( anyway, my dad isn’t that bad at all so i guess he’ll take him somewhere before Benok goes back to PI for schooling :)

also, nestle & i are celebrating our 8th month together! woot woot! but honestly, im so occupied today that i wasn’t able to greet him :( it’s him who reminded me that it’s our day when he asked me to browse his blog because he posted a nice article and when i clicked it, this photo came out.

i didn’t react so much (well, im always like that! i really love seeing him so annoyed coz of me :P hehe) but i felt special. tell me who won’t…got a partner who will always be there by yourside whenever troubles come on your way? if so, you are lucky and so am i for having nestle with me…love you sweet!

I was at the office when I saw the ‘Home Concepts’ magazine and read an article about flowers. There’s something about them that seem to thrill the heart of many and I will share some of them with you :)

For centuries, the refreshing beauty of flowers have captivated and fascinated people all over the world. Flowers have always enjoyed special attention from lovers and poets through gifts and poems. These serene beauties have also found a distinct place in myths and religious symbols of different cultures. Few things can convey the meaning of love, beauty and pure innocence like flowers.

Ginger Flower symbolizes Diversity

Heliconia symbolizes Prosperity

Sunflower symbolizes Cheerfulness

Anthurium symbolizes Graciousness

Gerbera symbolizes Strength

Red Roses represents Passionate Love

Pink Roses means Sweet Love

Purple Roses stand for Romantic Love

White Roses for Pure Love

Yellow Roses means Freedom

Tulip symbolizes Comfort

Orchid symbolizes Refinement

Carnation symbolizes Warmth and Motherly Love

I am always fascinated when I receive flowers. I got the most beautiful flowers in my life last year from a colleague - it was my birthday :P sadly, I wasn’t able to take photos of them but they are lovely yellow tulips mixed with orchids from the most expensive flower shop in Ho Chi Minh City. By the way, it’s the month of flowers now, so go and grab yours :P

crazy english

I was sorting out my things and throwing all the papers that I don’t need when I saw a brochure from Norton University here in Cambodia and read an article about english. It goes like this :)

We’ll begin with a box and the plural is boxes. But the plural of ox becomes oxen, not oxes.

One fowl is a goose, but two are called geese. Yet the plural of moose should never be meese.

You may find a lone mouse or a nest full of mice. Yet the plural of house is not hice.

If the plural of man is always called men, why shouldn’t the plural of pan be called pen?

If I speak of my foot and show you my feet, and I give you a boot, would a pair be called beet?

Then one maybe that, and three would be those. Yet hat in the plural would never be hose. And the plural of cat is cats, not cose.

We speak of a brother and also of brethren. But though we say mother, we never say methren.

Then the masculine pronounce are he, his and him. But imagine the feminine: she, shis and shim!

Let’s face it: English is a crazy language.

There is neither egg in eggplant nor ham in hamburger; neither apple or pine in pineapple. English muffins weren’t invented in England. We take English for granted, but if we explore its paradoxes, we find that quicksand work slowly, boxing rings are square and a guinea pig is neither from Guinea or is it a pig.

And why is it that writers write but fingers do not fing, grocers do not groce and hammers do not ham?

Doesn’t it seem crazy that you can make amends but not one amend.

If you have a bunch of adds and ends and get rid of all but one of them, what do you call it?

If teachers taught, why didn’t preachers praught?

If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?

Sometimes I think all the folks who grew up speaking English should be committed to an asylum for the verbally insane.

In what other language do people recite at a play and play at a recital?

We ship by truck but send cargo by ship.

We have noses that run and feet that smell.

We park in a driveway and drive in a parkway.

And how can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same, while a wise man and a wise guy are opposites?

You have to marvel at the unique lunacy of a language in which your house can burn up as it burns down, in which you fill in a form by filling it out, and in which an alarm goes off by going on.

And in closing, if Father is Pop, how come Mother’s not Mop? :P

This is Aaron earlier at the office after I left him for a meeting. Funny when I arrived my colleagues told me how pity Aaron looks like when they saw him. Good thing Nico was there to bring him upstairs but before he lift him he took a photo first so he could show it to me :P

Mama, Inah, Benok and Andrea left this afternoon to Ho Chi Minh City to take the rest of their vacation there. We’ll miss them a lot for the house will be quiet without Andrea dancing her ‘Get Low’ song :(

By the way, Bigboy has been kind enough to give me the link for the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) that will prepare and support future human exploration to the moon. Names will be collected and placed onboard the LRO spacecraft for its historic mission bringing NASA back to the moon. You will receive a certificate showcasing your support of the mission :-) I have my certificate already by signing up on their webby and if you like to get yours simply click here.

it’s a beautiful day to go swimming today. not very hot and not so cold, so the kids swam the whole afternoon with the rest of the family :-D i swam a little and went up soon because they want me to cook spaghetti, so i left them enjoying the water. i am not feeling well but i still managed to project and smile though i feel sick (nobody knows whatever i feel, tsk tsk). anyway, the spaghetti was delicious as they said and the kids ate well.

i am going to miss the whole family when they leave tomorrow as they are bound to ho chi minh city, i will admit i am dying to work back there, nothing beats hcmc as i have more friends there than here. enough of it for the mean time - i know i’ll be back there soon coz my family is there and it’s like manila to me that i can go to anytime i want to, hehe! inah and benok will stay at papa’s house till 25th of may then will fly to manila. i hope everything will go well with them when they’re back home with the dogs. mama will stay with papa like before and we’re all looking forward that they’ll all behave well like before.

we went out early today para mamasyal kasama ang buong family (nestle and mine) kumain muna kami sa boeung keng kang market ng aming paborito na bbq then bumili na ng bus ticket going to ho chi minh para kina mama, inah, benok at my kids…wala ng available seat for tomorrow so i bought the next day’s trip, i bet papa will be a bit sad for they will not be able to arrive tomorrow. soon we went to wat phnom (temple in the city) to say some prayers and feed the monkeys roaming all over the place. nakakatuwa kasi andun lang un mga unggoy pakalat kalat, bumili kami ng lotus para yun ang aming ipapakain sa kanila. one by one the monkeys came to us, some are nice and some are not! yun iba swapang, nagagalit un malalaking unggoy kapag nagbibigay kami sa ibang unggoy ng food, they are even running after us and act biting, meron namang isa bigla na lang yumakap sa legs ni inah from behind kasi itinatago nya yung bunch ng lotus sa likuran nya, hayun sya ang nagulat nung ayaw ng bumitaw sa kanya ng unggoy…si sweet naman, tumataas ang adrenalin kapag outrage na un mga monkeys - worried kasi sya at baka mangagat, malakas pa naman ang rabies ng mga unggoy!

after wat phnom sa soria mall naman kami nagpunta. i went to the toy section with andrea and aaron while the others did their own shopping. ang hirap maging parent kasi your kids are expecting you to give them all the things that they want! halos lahat ng laruan gusto nila, wala na nga silang pakialam kung mahal ba yun or hinde basta ang alam lang nila ay gusto nila yun, tsk tsk! so what i did is ask them to choose the best toy that they want. andrea chose barbie and a mushroom tent while aaron bought a naruto scooter and a ben ten wristwatch. mind you bago kami nakapili ng laruan katakot takot na bartering ang ginawa ko.

phsar thmey naman ang next stop namin, namili lang sila ng konti dun tapos dumirecho na kami sa parkway. bumpcar ang una nilang nilaro, and dahil buntis ako syempre andun lang ako sa isang tabi kasama sina mami deng at mama :P naka 2 rounds pa sila bago kami naglaro ng bowling. ang kulit ng mga bata kasi 1st time nilang magbowling, what can we expect from them syempre canal lahat ng tira, hahaha :D after almost 1hr ng paglalaro pumunta na kami sa sovanna mall (3rd mall na namin to :P) past 3 na ng makarating kami dun kaya kumain na kami ng late lunch namin. pizza galore ang inorder namin then some salad and fried chicken wings. ang dami kong nakain, nakalimutan ko me prenatal check up ako in an hour. kaya naman when i arrived at the hospital, the nurse weighed me immediately and measured my bp. nung kausap ko na si doc sabi nia, over weight na daw ako, kasi in the span of 1 month 4 kilos ang ibinigat ko which is not good for me, hayun she insisted that i better go on a diet and should lose weight at least 1 kilo by my next check up, boohoo! ang sarap pa naman kumain, kainis! i dunno know if i am disciplined enough not to overdose food but i have to try or else ako rin naman ang mahihirapan. i posted some photos of our pasyal kanina and for more photos click here \':D\'

I’m still not feeling good kahit na namasyal kami sa russian market nila mama kanina at namili ng konti…ewan pag di maganda ang pakiramdam ko apektado ang kilos ko…di ko naman masabi na naiinis ako kasi baka maspoil naman ang bakasyon nila, ah basta naiinis ako pero di ko mailabas kaya sa sobrang inis ko nahilo ako sa loob nung market :-(

i tried to cool down nung makarating kami sa bahay, did some stuff and went down to the office to finish my tasks, tapos nag sound trip na lang ako. halos mabaon ko na sa limot na marami nga pala akong songs from beck, palibhasa di ko kinakalikot yun laptop ko kaya nalimutan ko ng meron pa nga pala akong mga bagay na nakasave kung san san, hehe! gumaan ng konti yun pakiramdam ko nung marinig ko yun kantang ‘debra’

I downloaded the vid & lyrics for you to know why I liked it :P enjoy :-D

I met you at jc penny
I think your name-tag said jenny
I could step to you
With a fresh pack of gum
And somehow I knew
You were looking for some love
Like a prude thats rype for the picking
I wouldnt do you like that
This aint cooked chicken
Cause only you got a thing
That I just got to get with I just got to get, get with you
And you know what were gonna do
I wanna get with you
Oh girl
And your sister
I think her name is debra
I wanna get with you
Only you girl
And your sister
I think her name is debra
Girl, I only want to be down with you
Cause you got something that
I just got to get with
Ill pick you up late at night after work
I said lady, step inside my hyundai
Im gonna take you up to glendale
Im gonna take you for a real good meal
Cause when our eyes did meet
Girl you know I was packing heat
Aint no use in wasting no time getting to know each other
You know the deal
Cause only youve got a thing that
I just got to get with
I just got to get with you girl
You know I want to get with you
Only you girl
And your sister
I think her name is debra
I want to get with you girl
And your sister
I think her name is debra
Ooh lovely lady
Girl you drive me crazy
Yeah, I got a little bit of sympathy for you girl
Cause Im a full grown man
And Im not afraid to…

simpson to failure

Failure is not reaching your goal, but in having no goal to reach.

I was at the office when I suddenly feel uncomfortable of everything…i dunno if it’s my hormones acting up again or just the mere fact that there are things I am failing to achieve in my life now. if i will sum up how am I now, I couldn’t say that I’m not doing well - I have the kids with me here abroad, blessed to have another child in July and a work to survive the living plus Nestle as my partner. What else can I ask more??? But still deep inside me there’s a small voice that says ‘I am a failure’. Sigh. I’ve tried so many things and started many, too, but not all have a satisfactory result. I wasn’t able to finish some and others remained the same. I have goals in life that I want to pursue and I know that the path through there is not easy. Obstacles will be there to hinder me and I myself must make a way to push them away. Sigh again. I’m just feeling terrible now and I just want to relax. I’ll try to fix whatever is wrong with me then I’ll wait & see what will happen next.
