As we celebrate our last day of school for the month with boggle and party scrabble, my previous grade 7 students decided to have a small Halloween party together with my grade 6 class. We had our pizza and chicken galore, delivered by the Pizza Company at our classroom. Everybody was happy while devouring on the foods with the thump thump music loudly playing in the background. Some danced, some sang and some rapped! I have the talented students giggling their way on a Friday afternoon.
When the clock hit 2pm, all of us hurried to the bus and off we went to Northbridge Community which is 2 minutes away from the school to bid farewell to my student Koichi Mayumi. It’s his last day at school today because he needs to go back to Japan to continue his studies. For the short time spent, he managed to know more people around and we are happy to be one of them. His mom, Mrs. Christina is a Filipina like me
She is very sweet and humble despite of the riches they have. In the house, Koichi has his own baseball training machine which he use everyday to practice. Little that we know, Koichi is a Little League player back in his country so it is important for him to keep up his skills and even enhance it. All the students stand amazed while watching him hit the ball. We didn’t stay long in their villa and finally everybody bid farewell and said thanks for the sumptuous foods they made for us. To Koichi, I hope you will become the next Matsui of Japan! Go Go Go!
Everybody is celebrating Halloween and my kids are just staying home doing their little homework from their mommy. Later, after dinner they will receive a small treat so they won’t feel sad. To sum my post, here is the history of Halloween
Halloween (also spelled Hallowe’en) is an annual holiday celebrated on October 31. It has roots in the Celtic festival of Samhain and the Christian holy day of All Saints. It is largely a secularcelebration but some have expressed strong feelings about perceived religious overtones.
The day is often associated with the colors black and orange, and is strongly associated with symbols like the jack-o’-lantern. Halloween activities include trick-or-treat, wearing costumes and attending costume parties, ghost tours, bonfires, visiting haunted attractions, pranks, telling scary stories, and watching horror film.
Trick-or-treating is a customary celebration for children on Halloween. Children go in costume from house to house, asking for treats such as candy or sometimes money, with the question, “Trick or treat?” The word “trick” refers to a (mostly idle) threat to perform mischief on the homeowners or their property if no treat is given. In some parts of Ireland and Scotland children still go guising. In this custom the child performs some sort of show, i.e. sings a song or tells a ghost story, in order to earn their treats.
It’s time to review your knowledge in the periodic table of elements and our lesson for today is about Gold which has Au as it’s symbol
But let us cut the crap and not discuss the element, let’s analyse the gold in our life. It could represent as our family, work, friends and many more that is as important as gold. I am saying this because as we grow old we learn to value things and people that exists in our daily struggles in life. We all know that gold is one of the most difficult to find elements in the world. There’s plenty of them in the sea and in many parts of Africa but still, you need great courage and perseverance in searching them. Just like the people around you!
Some maybe 24k, others will be 21k and so forth. What exactly I want to say is that there’s no greater joy than to spend our precious time and love to those who makes us happy and complete. And because of this we value them in every little way just like how we adore gold accessories and other ornaments made from it.
To end my sentiments, I am leaving you a quote which I like most
- never pretend to a love which you do not actually feel, for love is not ours to command.
Treasure them while you still have time…that’s all
There will be a big event in the Penh and it’s going to last for 3 days, for me it’ll be 6 days, whoopeee! Though I don’t have any plans to go out of the city this Water Festival, I have decided to spend it with my family – quality time with them and we are going to have swimming sessions for three days!
If time will permit, we’ll go to Koh Kong or Sihanoukville for a swim but if we’re not lucky, we’ll end up at the Phnom Penh Sports Club which I think is not a problem as long as we can enjoy and relax.
Talking about swimming, I think I will be needing a good swimsuit for this activity. Something nice and comfortable since I gained weight after giving birth to Aiken. I need to hide the extra bulge of fats that formed in my body for they do not look good not unless there will be a miracle and all of them will be gone in a day (how I wish). So a good style will surely fit my interest
It’s the last day of school now and holiday will start tomorrow. I’ll be finishing some more tasks within the day and off I go to my relaxation
There’s gonna be the annual meteor shower tonight at predawn hours. This meteor shower happens when Halley passes around the sun on its elongated orbit – every 76 years – it lays down a fresh track of debris for Earth to plow through in subsequent years. Those tracks spread out and mingle over time, and we pass the tracks each October during our 365-day, nearly circular trek around the sun.
The best time to watch will be between 1 a.m. and dawn local time Wednesday morning, regardless of your location. That’s when the patch of Earth you are standing on is barreling headlong into space on Earth’s orbital track, and meteors get scooped up like bugs on a windshield.
Peak activity, when Earth wades into the densest part of the debris, is expected around 6 a.m. ET (3 a.m. PT).
Some meteors could show up late tonight, too. Late-night viewing typically offers fewer meteors, however, because your patch of Earth is positioned akin to the back window of the speeding car.
The Orionids have been strong in recent years. So if you have plans to watch, bring a blanket with you and your love one to enjoy the show
As a teacher and a mother, I always impart to my children and students how important books are to our life. They should be treated as your best friend especially if you’re still in school and studying. For me, they’re gems that needs to be taken care of, away from the harmful elements!
Books are one of my investments, I collect as many as I can to help me understand things that I do not know. It gives me more knowledge of the issues that are happening around and it educates me more as I read the pages thoroughly. One thing that concerns me when buying is the price of the books. I remember when I was still studying in the university, I always save from my allowance just to buy a small book from the bookshop. I even look for cheap textbooks so I won’t end up broke or else I won’t be able to survive my week at school…you know when you’re a student you need to find ways to get on your studies and books that are cheap with the same content like the expensive ones will help you alot! You just have to remember that when buying a book, you have to familiarize yourself with different ISBN numbers so you won’t get lost in finding them
Addicted to shoes – that’s what I am
and I think every single woman is the same. Tell me if there’s a girl in the world who is not in love with beautiful shoes and I will slap their face in front of you, kidding!
But honestly, most girls are inclined in eyeing and buying good quality shoes. And no matter how expensive it is as long as their pocket can absorb the stress, they’ll buy it.
Speaking of shoes, I found some very nice styles at beautifeel. Not only they have wide range of shoes and sandals, they are also made anatomically, this means that they have the basics to give comfort to your feet. If you are fetish with designer shoes, you will definitely like their Dansko Shoes. They have a large selection that will surely give you many choices before settling on one.
Remember, that shoes are not only made to give style, they are done to give comfort to our bare feet thus, comfort should be our priority when buying one. Goodluck in your shoescapade!
There’s a lot of reason why we experience body pain. Most of the time our body encounter too much stress that it cannot contain anymore. Perfect reason why we suffer.
Like in my case, too much exposure to computer gives me headache. Normally my eyes will get blurred on one side and soon after my head is like splitting into two. This becomes my worst enemy especially if I have tasks to finish
So how do I resolve it? I usually take medicine for instant pain relief, then I will get some rest. In that way, my body will have a chance to regenerate lost energy. After a couple of hours, I am fully charged and able to get back on my work
There is also another solution if you are suffering from severe body pain. This is through visiting a specialized clinic that offers different methods in treating pain. The specialists will give you a strict diet and exercise to follow. This will make a significant change if you FOLLOW what the specialist had advised you to do.
Still, the best thing to prevent pain is to have a good diet and proper time management in our life. If we have a happy and contented life then we have a very light outlook in things around us – meaning we do not stress our body therefore there is no pain
It’s Yellow 4’s birthday today
I call Chele Yellow 4 because when we’re still young we loved to watch Bioman (our favourite kiddie action series, which I think is very familiar if you’re born in the 80’s) and I am called as Pink 5, the gorgeous pretty girl on pink overall
My ever dear sister Chele, I wish you happiness and good health in your life. The achievements who had are amazingly wonderful and I salute you for them. I am so sorry for being far away, nevertheless my heart is always with you. You know how much I love you and that I will always be there through your ups & downs. I miss you so much, especially our pigging out time :-*
I thought I am a robot built with high quality mechanisms, one who is never sick, programmed to wake up everyday with good health and a big smile on the face. But I was mistaken. It’s only yesterday when I mentioned that it’s been a long time since I got sick and here I am a day after, deep in my chair with severe cough and colds.
It’s kinda annoying when you have set your body to accomplish tasks and yet you will not be able to do all of them because of your health problem. I have to admit, I really don’t like being sick! I’m off to bed now, the meds kicking in and it’s making me sleepy…tomorrow is another day and I pray that colds will subside right away, if not at least I want to feel better.

Thou shalt NOT get sick when kids do.
Thou shalt answer questions about geography, long division, and where babies came from.
Thou shalt walk slowly and carry a big purse.
Thou shalt stop on the highway to rescue the turtle…and give the kids raw hot dogs to feed it.
Thou shalt through a zillion recitals and ball games.
Thou shalt not admit thou art related to – much less kiss – thy adolescent in public.
Thy shalt give thyself time to relax and enjoy life.
