Monday Madness
Monday is supposed to be an upbeat starter of the week, but in my case it became lame! 3 hours of sleep, moody, kinda lazy to come to work, and a bit of headache – that’s how I started my day. It’s 2 days away from Khmer New Year and the school is supposed to be closed. There are more or less 50% students who came to school today. Most of them are already vacationing while us were nanny-ing the kids who came.
I can still remember how happy the students in the Philippines whenever there’s no class or even if holiday’s coming soon. Most of the students would be happier not to come to school so they can go out to the mall or watch movies, unlike the students here in Cambodia, where they prefer to be at school rather that at home. They said it’s boring at home and at school they can play and gossip with their friends! For me there’s no problem with that but I find it really boring when you’ve got nothing to do aside to watch them where they are. I have done my lesson plans ’til July so the only thing I need to worry is their assessment tests which could be done easily. I would rather have a busy teaching day than to babysit my grade 6 students.
Tomorrow’s the last day of school for the week, to give way for the Khmer New Year. I hope something good will happen or else, i will be bored again
