Nokia C6 – Daddy Pong’s Post Anniv Gift to Mommy Jivy

September 23rd, 2010 Posted 11:28 pm

I came home exhausted from today’s work at school. So after checking my emails and internet stuff, I hugged my pillow and slept in the living room, thinking that I could regenerate some lost energy from teaching my students.

Then a tap on my leg woke me up saying we’re going out to buy a new phone. It’s Pong who’s trying to annoy me in the middle of my sleep (mind you it’s only half past six in the evening) and that I have to change clothes fast or else the phone shop will be closed at 7.30!!! Irritated for being awake, I stood on my feet shouting that whatever his purpose is, it’s not funny! I know that our budget is quite limited these days with all the expenditures that we have and buying a new phone is not necessary this time. But he insisted. He always hear me saying how I wanted a Blackberry 9700, so he insisted I should get one.

After a few minutes, we headed to Hakse in Sihanouk (which is owned my by student) and browsed from their stocks. The model that I want is not available, so we chose between android and Nokia. Since I am still on my sleepy mode, my mind’s not working properly to which I will choose. Android’s nice but the one available only has 3mp cam, so I settled with Nokia C6, the white one so we won’t be confused with our phones.

Here’s the full review of Nokia C6 :)

Daddy Pong,

Thanks for the post anniversary gift! I’m still lazy to personalise my new phone but in a while, you’ll see me working with it. Most of all, I am not only happy with the material things that you’re giving me, I am more happy and content with your never failing surprises to me and my family. Tama ka nga…di mo man ako nabigyan ng ring, nag riring naman yun natanggap ko galing sayo, hahaha! Thank you so much!!! Utang muna ang regalo ko sayo :P

Shabu-Shabu, A Festive Treat in the Heart of Phnom Penh

September 23rd, 2010 Posted 10:27 pm

A new phone and a dinner treat at Shabu-Shabu near Phnom Penh Centre completed my day. Thanks to Pong who made efforts to celebrate Papa Jun’s birthday today even though he’s so far from us. Biggie and Franco joined us for a festive buffet dinner where we ended bloated with all the sushi and hot pot we ate.

Super spoiled as my sister describes me whenever Pong is being generous to me and the rest, but I’d rather say that I am one lucky lass to have someone like him who could love me through the darkest hours of my days. He’s superb!

Before I end my entry for the night, I want to greet my dear father a happy happy big day on his nth birthday! May you have more blessings to come on your way.

And to Andrea who will be representing the school for the upcoming swimming competition next week, keep in mind that no matter what happen, win or lose, you’re still the best for us. You go girl!

Dear Diary…

To improve my students’ writing, I gave them a “Dear Diary” project which they started last Monday, and today is my first day to check their entries. Reading their writings made me laugh for a while. Here are some of the students Dear Diary posts:

“Teacher Joyce is the most evil and strictest teacher I have ever met in my entire life! She always give us a lot of homework :( ” by Keang Huy
“I hate detention because it is boring but today I got one because I didn’t do my homework for Teacher Joyce.” From Marina Sun

“Teacher gave us difficult homework, now I am so tired.” By Sang Teng

“Too much homework to finish, now I have to sleep late and wake up early so I can pass them on time…Oooh Teacher Joyce.” By Yi Houy

They are hating me with all the homework I am giving them, hahahaha! Bad bad teacher Joyce! But hell no, I am very nice to them and all I want them to acquire is to be more responsible in their time and studies. I want them to value everything that they have in life because not all children can have the same things like them. Of course, this is not an overnight activity and I know they’ll pick up the lessons soon. Speaking of school and its on-going renovations, especially in the science laboratory, I hope and I really would love to have some blinds to cover the huge window, which will b helpful when I am using the projector. There might be some local shops here who sells cheap blinds. I hope the admins will check out their ready made blinds and set it up just in time for us to use it.

On the brighter side, it’s the Constitutional Day tomorrow and that means we do not have class at school! Yey! Another long weekend with my family. Andrea and Aaron will have exams on Monday, I better help them review their lessons to get high scores. Another week’s down, many more to go :)

I feel like Alice Dixson in her 1980′s commercial “I can feel it!” where she shows her slim and white shoulders. Too bad mine’s flabby and tan, but who cares, right? As long as I feel comfortable of myself, nothing else matter. Celebrating Aaron’s birthday gave me a positive mood to have a photo, so I didn’t let the opportunity escape and instantly asked Pong to take some shots of me. Also, I want to let Franco know that I am wearing the blouse I bought from his clothing boutique +855 and show how glamorous I looked with it on. I simply love the twisted back! The look is sexy in a very fashionable way and not to mention the fabric which is very cool on your body.

I still have a couple of new blouses from +855, might wear the white floral top tomorrow at school and take a photo of me again :P I hope he’ll have some Simple HalloweenCostumes next time so I can tell my students to buy in celebration of Halloween next month. As early as now, they’re planning to have a small trick or treat activity around the campus wearing costumes, excited as you might say but I think they’re just being organised especially now that they always complain how tough my class is.

By the way, for those who wants to check +855′s fab dresses, you can contact Franco, 017 339 252 for more information.

Happy 8th Birthday Kuya Aaron!

September 22nd, 2010 Posted 12:34 am

Aaron celebrated his birthday in advance and twice in a day! First, at his class this morning and second at Pizza World in Sovannah Mall. The class party was a very simple treat of some Filipino dishes; pancit bihon guisado, special puto, and fried chicken, where the students happily devoured themselves with the foods. Thanks to Teacher Christine Salvador (Aaron’s class adviser) for making my son’s birthday worth remembering.

Also, to our Walnut, CA family, we’re very much surprised once again with the extended love and care you sent us. We had a wonderful feast of pizzas, chickens, and salad tonight :-)

Kuya Aaron and his generous gift from Walnut, CA. He’ll spend the money to buy balls for his paintball game on Sunday :D

The family that eats pizza together, gets fat together :P

To Daddy Pong, thanks for the love…

First Day High

September 17th, 2010 Posted 6:27 pm

13 September was the first kick off of Cambodia International Academy for SY 2010-11. More than 500 students came to attend their first classes and that includes my children Andrea and Aaron. It has been a very busy week organising every single details in my class. Prep is also tedious, especially now that I am teaching three levels of sciences. Challenging is the right word and I am beginning to love my job more than ever before. The classes that I have are very extra ordinary. Unique in so many ways and so different from the previous ones.Β  I am sure that this year’s gonna be a lot of fun!

Going back to Andrea and Aaron, so far they’re having great time coping at their new school, meeting new friends, and improving study habits. It’s too early to say that they’re very good but they are surely giving their best in the class.

Since the classes started, my alarm is now ticking at 5am every school days – to prepare lunch boxes and snacks for the three of us. I haven’t spent a single dollar at the canteen since Monday and that’s an achievement :P The foods that I prepare are way more healthy than the ones they sell in the canteen. Plus, they always have the same menu which is quite tiring if you don’t have any choice but to buy and eat them.

Rating the week, I’ll give perfect 10 for the challenge, 10 for efforts, 5 for the admins who are a bit late this year in giving supplies for the students, and 10 for my students who are diligently following every instructions I give. The school is still undergoing some minor constructions like placing new large vinyl banners outside and other stuff that are classroom related.

I’m glad that it’s Friday today, I’ll be able to sleep more and take some rest before I hit the kitchen again tomorrow, remember that it’s my cooking day every Saturday and I’m still thinking what to cook this weekend. For now, I’ll enjoy reading some of the literature books I brought home, from my little library and play with Aiken whom I miss so much!

Happy 3 Years!

no fancy dinner at a famous restaurant nor expensive gifts, just a simple home-cooked meal for my special daddy pong and family in celebration of our 3rd year anniversary. here’s my treat for the family: pancit bihon guisado (stir fried noodles), puto, ham sandwich, and fried chicken. i hope you guys liked all of them.

as time pass by, gifts and other materials do not matter anymore. we’re more into how much we value the time spent when we’re together and how much we want to improve our lives through hard work and proper guidance in the family. many things have changed from the time we’ve met, we gradually matured and learned from our mistakes in the past. we’re far better now and my love is even more. let’s stay this way if not forever at least for the longest time that we could have each other. i love you dad!

Coffee Prince

September 9th, 2010 Posted 8:07 am

Coffee Prince is comedy-romantic Koreanovela and it’s my latest addiction now. For two nights in a row, I am skipping my other responsibilities just to watch the DVD from Biggie and I even watch some parts of it before I go to work (addicted). I seldom watch the latest programs on TV when I am home but stories like this can me stay for many hours without changing my position. Oh by the way, I am also waiting for Glee’s 2nd season to start next week, hopefully this will keep me energise after a hard day’s work at school.

For those who wants to watch coffee prince, try mysoju, it’s a Free TV Online and aside from this drama series, you’ll find endless list of really good Korean telenovelas. Enjoy watching :D

i won’t back down!

sa trabaho andaming magaling, andaming nagmamagaling, andaming echosero at echosera, andaming pademure na akala mo inde sila makakabasag ng plato at kung anu ano pa.nakasalamuha ko na ata lahat ng mga nabanggit ko at sa tingin ko, madalas naapektuhan ako sa mga kilos at ginagawa nila. inde ako dapat maapektuhan pero dahil sa nagtatrabaho kami sa iisang organisasyon, batid ko na maging isang grupo kami ng mga nagtutulungan na empleyado. well, i guess i am mistaken in making assumptions that work would be much enjoyable if you get along well with your colleagues. andami sa kanila pinaplastik ka lang pag nakaharap tas pag nakatalikod ka na andami ng sinasabi about you. keber na lang! after all alam ko naman ang capacity ko bilang isang miyembro ng kompanya.

isa pa sa napansin kong problema ang kompitensya. when they saw that you’re capable of doing things and getting them right, instead of making you as their inspiration, they’ll treat you as a competitor as if you’re in a competition. utak talangka di ba?

despite of these all, i won’t back down! bat ako magpapaapekto ngayon sa mga mapanirang kasamahan sa trabaho, after all i am not there for them. i am there do my job properly, execute and implement quality in everything i do, and get my paycheck at the end of the month after a job well done.
