Poverty is always the reason why parents can’t send their children to school leaving the kids uneducated and deprived of what they should be enjoying in their early life.

This seemed to be an eye opener to one of my kababayan in Cavite City, Philippines. Efren Penaflorida is a proud Caviteno who uses pushcart to reach out the poor children who cannot afford to attend proper schooling. In the pushcart you’ll find books and other materials he uses in teaching. He even feeds the children so they will feel energized while listening. His story has inspired many lives, specially those who are living in remote areas.

By doing his one of a kind mission, CNN has seen his efforts and included him in CNN’s Top Ten Heroes of the year. I would like to plea to all of you to give your support to our fellow Filipino who has nothing but goodness in heart. Let us all cast our votes to make him the Hero of the Year.
