InterContinental Phnom Penh hosts Wine and Cheese Night at their Lobby Loung once a month and last night Nestle and I were invited to attend one of the most prestigious social marketing in town. Oh well, if you’re looking for potential clients and interested in meeting new people, this is the right place for you.

Melissa has been very modest to invite us and celebrate her last couple of days in the hotel as she’s heading to much greener pastures somewhere out there. With varieties of wines to choose from and loads of cheese, you’ll definitely go gaga which one to take first. As I’m a seafood lover, I headed straight to salmon-oysters-mussels corner and paved my way to savor their great taste, adding to my delight is Chef Abu Shadek’s presence in the hall :) All these for only $25++ per pax which is very affordable considering the coziness of the place and the extensive list of wine and cheese on the tables.

If you’re interested to try InterCon’s Wine and Cheese Night, check their Facebook profile for promotions and updates or call: 023 424 888 ext 3562.

Andrea and Aaron were invited to join InterContinental Phnom Penh’s Earth Hour activity for kids which composed of lantern making contest for 15-year olds and art coloring contest for 5-10 year olds. T’was a fun event though there’s only a handful of participants which were generally sons and daughters of ICH-PP’s staffs.

My dear friend Melissa organized every single detail and I am happy that it turned out very well. During the contest, my stage-mom persona has come out and I couldn’t help myself in cheering my kids. I was more nervous than them, to be honest. For me, this is not only “for fun” but the kids should take the contest seriously if they want the prize to be them, eh! At first, we got a little intimidated with an older kid at the back who colored her work fast and beautifully, while Andrea and Aaron were taking their time on their little piece of art. After 30 mins, the staffs collected the paper for the judge to look.

The kids went on a heavy snack prepared by the hotel. There are varieties of cakes, fruits, spring rolls, chickens, and breads on the table. Too much food to fill little tummies of children. Nevertheless, everybody was full and happy upon eating while waiting for the results of the contest.

Stefan Voogel, the General Manager of ICH-PP has the last words to say and then the moment of truth is on…the winners of the art coloring were announced first and there were three winners for each category which is based on the ages of the participants. We got a little hopeless when a Khmer kid won first and tadaaahhhh…Andrea was called on next as the best for her age group!!! I am so proud of my daughter, and I am even prouder with her little achievements. Aaron went sad when his name wasn’t called but he made fun out it after taking all the excess goodies from her Tita Mel :D

Here’s Andrea and her chocolate bunny trophy made by Chef Shadek :D

Later in the evening, it was the adults time to unwind. Off we went to Darling Darling Club at Naga World, where Nestle’s company has an event. Mel and I came a bit early for the night but we didn’t mind as we have a lot of catching up to make – you know :P

I met Nestle’s colleague and craziest companion in the office – Sylvian.

On our way home, I realized how good life is and how wonderful my friends are. Though my Saturday didn’t have a good start, I had a wonderful ending which is the most important!

Im back to work since August 18 and it took me a while to blog again since I’ve been busy doing loads of task. Romyr is leaving soon and the job he’ll leave will be shared by me, Riza and Roma. I know we’ll not be able to equal the dedication and hard work you’ve done but we’ll do our best to make your efforts worthy of us :)

So the past week is really busy between family and work. I don’t even have time to chat with my family, well I guess their busy too, because I don’t see them online. I just hope nothing’s wrong going on in them.

Last night, Nestle and I went to Hotel InterCon. Not really to date each other but to try the Wine and Cheese they have for the night. It’s a monthly event and Ashley (our boss) recommended us to visit and see how it goes there, since we’re the one doing the promotions for InterCon. We got there at 8pm, paid $22/pax, tax included like what people do inΒ San Diego tax planning and you can drink unlimited wine and eat cheese as much as you want. You can choose from 10 varieties of wine that they have – up to you if you want a pinot, chardonnay, pinotage, cabernet sauvignon & savignon blanc.

Im not a fan of cheesse so I drank instead. I think I had 4 glasses of white and 2 glasses of red wine. There’s not much people so I stood beside Nestle all the time and Ashley’s younger sister who happened to be there as well. I met Stefan and Damian (InterCon’s big bosses) and had a small conversation. Past 9, we went home togethr with Jordyan who arrived a bit late in the event. I was flat tired when we arrived, I didn’t even manage to eat dinner before goin to bed. All I had the whole day was a double cheese double beef burger from USA Donut, anyway, it doesn’t matter because I am not that hungry.

Time’s up guys, I need to go back to work now. Ciao!
