25 Jun 2009 Swine Flu in Cambodia

I guess the outbreak is inevitable and now Cambodia has two confirmed cases of A(H1N1) or most commonly known as ‘Swine Flu‘. The school informed the faculty and other staffs about the virus and were told not to accept students with flu like symptoms. If ever a student comes to school with fever they should be sent home immediately.

As a mom with kids, I am very much alarmed about this outbreak. They go to school and I don’t get to see what they do, this makes me worry more if they suddenly bump into a virus carrier and later get infected! They’re kids and don’t know much about these things, so I need to make extra effort on making them understand  how to be more careful when they are outside, so they won’t get sick with anything.

I don’t feel good since yesterday, my throat sores and I am coughing like a dog, luckily I am not feverish or else I will consider that maybe I have the virus in me as the above mentioned are some of the symptoms of A(H1N1) virus.

The whole family is now taking more vitamin C to boost our immune system and will not go out for a while in places where there are too many people. This will help us, to at least avoid getting infected. Plus, I am planning to have shots of flu vaccine for the rest of us, espacially that Aiken and Nestle’s going back to Philippines where they have reported many cases of swine flu victims. It’s better to have simple precautions like this than regretting later – when we are already sick.
